Day 28: Almost one month!

A lunchbox that hasn't been used since before my son went to college (1.5 years ) is the newest item to go.

Those of you who are trying to simplify by getting rid of at least one thing per day, we've been at it for almost one month. Sometime in the next week, if you have time, I would love to hear an update of your progress so far, if your attitude is changing toward clutter, what difficulties you are having, or whatever you can tell us. It's been fun for me having you all on board!

  1. Today I decluttered the side of my fridge. I threw away old Dr's appt cards, magnets, pictures of people I don't know (don't ask me why they were even there) and an empty magnetic tablet to make a store list. It was liberating. In just one minute I tossed at least 10 things. I'm now ready to tackle the cabinet under the downstairs bathroom sink. Wish me luck :)

  2. That liberating feeling really does come every time we clear out an area and get more free space! Go Heather!

  3. I got rid of about 15 old - but never opened - small containers of body lotion. They were acquired over the course of many hotel stays. Two bottles were from the Kauaii Marriott that I visited 14 years ago, and two were from Disney World's Swan and Dolphin Resort that we visited 6 years ago. They brought back fond memories but weren't worth keeping.

  4. I think I have "simplified" something everyday of the challenge. As stated previously, sometimes it was using what I already had instead of buying something new. I have also found that when I go shopping, I sometimes come home empty-handed becuase, after going through lots and lots of containers I know that I do not need any more clothes - or any more anything for that matter...except money...and if I don't spend, I have more of that! I have tossed, I have shared, I have not bought things, I have taken to Goodwill and I have "used up" stuff that has been around for a little too long. It is a great feeling...a new way of thinking...BUT I have a very long way to go!!!!! The good news is, I have 11 more months! Yeah! :o)

  5. I put a sweater that my husband's grandmother knitted for him in the give aways. I took a picture, but he will never wear it again.
