Because there were newspapers, mail, bags of fruit, used drinking glasses, etc. all over my kitchen counter this weekend, the kitchen felt cramped and small. When I cleared everything and put it in its place, the kitchen seemed bigger. Those of us with modest sized homes don't need bigger homes; we need to have less stuff and then the space appears to enlarge! Is there anything large that can go, giving your home a larger feel? I'm thinking on that.
Another older formal went into the Goodwill box. Great job everyone! One per day: keep it up!
My kitchen is sooooo bad...counters very cramped. However, that is not my project for today. Carl is out of town for 3 days and I always try to clean out a room when he is gone....if he's home I have to pick the piles at the end of the day because he can't tolerate them. When he's gone, I make all the piles I want, as I categorize the junk, and I can leave them there until they get put away officially. This week it is the dining room....my catch-all room because we never use it. I have more than enough in that room alone to last me half the year here on the blog....so today I threw away many, many papers, candles burned beyond future use, old receipts, etc. More than several things also went in the give away box. My wall of bookshelves in there are now mostly organized but I have a LONG way to go. Hope I get it done by Wednesday night!
ReplyDeleteCheryl, it is so true that you need to make a mess to clean up a mess. That happens to me, too. Good for you getting so much done during this opportune time!!
