Day 17: Faded, Worn Items

Today a soap dispenser went into the trash. The metallic top had worn in places, it was discolored, and was looking just plain ugly. Sometimes I just need to get rid of the worn item and then I'll have the motivation to replace it with something better.

  1. I'm not sure what will be tossed today, but I am actually beginning to see a little difference in some areas of the house. This is great! Heidi, thanks, again! xoxo :o) ---faded and worn out is a good theme...now, where did my husband go??????????? JUST KIDDING!!!!!!

  2. I have been following your blog but have not committed to "simplifying one per day". However, yesterday I returned a pair of slacks to a store. I had purchased the slacks 2007 and I did have the receipt, if that tells you anything. Yes, the store actually took them back and gave me a store gift card. I am going to try to get on board with this program. Heidi, you are an inspiration!

  5. was too tired last night to even walk to the computer. for my sunday items - all i did was throw away some boxes. i hope that counts...they were definitely cluttering up the house! i also put away the things inside the boxes - so that was decluttering, too! welcome rita!!! ivy - if we went with the "faded and worn" for people, i would have to throw myself out as well! :)

  6. I am counting my faded, worn out "work jeans" that are already lost. Now I will just quit looking for them. This has been an unusual day for me, and I have really enjoyed your blog. You are very creative in the ideas you have for tossing stuff, and it is a great inspiration. Today has been an unusual day for me. Glen is out of town, and Christian has had my car at school/work, so I've been home all day without the thought of going anywhere. Thanks for all you are sharing!!
