Day 79: Books

If you read people's comments on this blog, there are definitely some simplifying habits being formed. I'm so happy for everyone!

Books seems almost sacred. Perhaps we are still of the mindset from pre-printer days where every word was copied by hand. I don't know, but it is difficult to get rid of books, especially to throw away books. Thankfully, places like Goodwill take them happily. Last evening, while looking for a certain wedding music book, I came across two piano solo books I never use anymore. They are in the give away bin.

Keep up the simplifying, everyone!

  1. i have so many books! so, that is my secret - books are my "go to" simplify objects when i am in too much of a hurry or it's late and i haven't simplified yet - i go to the numerous places where books are stashed around my house and i can easily find one to give-away.

tonight, for example, is a book night. 1 reader's digest, hard cover volume of condensed books (4 to be exact)...in the give-away box! for some reason - I cannot abide condensed versions of books. try as i might - I cannot read them. call it a foible, an idiosyncrasy (sp?), or a fault. :) can you tell it's late?

  2. Julie, I know the feeling with condensed books. It feels like you're missing out by reading only part of the story.
