Something that has helped me use up craft projects is to choose one a month; in any free time, just do that, i.e. scrapbooking, knitting, sewing, etc. It helps me make great headway without getting distracted with other hobbies. At that point, I feel like I "get rid" of one thing by finishing it.
Heidi - I would love to get to the point where I even have time to be creative! I really want to start knitting again! I am seriously short on time, tho! Now...let's see if I can get rid of something before the day is over...
ReplyDeleteSo, I was scrambling quickly last night to find one thing to get out of here - - even though I've gotten rid of lots of stuff - I want to try to do it every day so that this habit stays! I found a tiny plastic box that has about 25 tiny, red, plastic apples inside. I don't know what they were for (school manipulative? craft project?). The box is literally about 2 inches by 1.5 inches by 1 inch...but I put it in the give-away box.
ReplyDeleteGood Job Julie and Heidi. It is a good habit. You know how I love yard sales and thrift stores. I have gone to the stores and just walked away empty handed. I still enjoy browsing though. Yard sales may be another matter. It is not the "season" yet. I can't have gotten rid of so much only to fill the place back up again.
ReplyDeleteHeidi, I like your idea of devoting time to one specific craft each month. Just like SCPS has a word of the month, I could have a craft of the month.
