Day 66: A Hard Choice

I can happily say that I reached my goal in the "cupboard under the stairs" closet! I pulled the rest of the stuff out yesterday, rearranged, organized, and got rid of more. It looks so much better and I know where everything is.

In there was my Mary Poppins satchel that I loved. Recently, two very generous students gave me similar sized new travel bags. I looked at them, thinking that one person doesn't really need three overnight bags, no matter how cute. I really didn't want to get rid of my tapestry Mary Poppins-like one, but after examining it closely I saw chew marks on the edge, fraying around the zipper, and then I realized that it had served its purpose. The other two are new and much more in style. So...it went into the give away bin.

  1. More work on the basement yielded the main goal accomplished - a living area for our oldest daughter. Still several areas in the basement to work on - but we are happy that main part is settled and done!

The basement work resulted in forays into the attic. Today I threw away about 10 (small) boxes of old schoolwork and books and 2 suitcases (same theme as Heidi's Mary Poppins bag). I received the suitcases in 1981 as a high school graduation present! Their work was done.

Also on its way to Good Will is a very large manger set from the attic.
