Day 60! Two Months Down!

It has been two months, Ladies! At the end of January, I asked if you might be willing to comment on your progress after the first month. Would you do that again? It is encouraging for all of us to hear what people are doing.

My mindset continues to change about bringing in new items to my house. With most things, I think, "I don't really need that. It will just be one more piece of stuff to store." Along with getting rid of items and cleaning out a messy closet, I think that is my biggest accomplishment this past month. Also, I see the attitude flowing over to my family members as they begin to rid their spaces of excess clutter.

Today I am putting out a broken dehumidifier for trash pick-up.

  1. Simplifiers - the reason I have not been "here" is that I have been working almost every day for the last 2 weeks and have had no time/mental energy to focus on this.....but today is my day....by bedtime I hope to post some progress! Pray I can follow through!

  2. Go Cheryl!!! :)

My best discovery so far is realizing that it only takes a minute or two to get rid of one thing. My greatest change so far is that now when I see clutter, I'm not ignoring it or pretending not to see it. I am either doing something about it or at least recognizing it as clutter.

  3. I definitely have a different mindset. I look at things differently, in particular the incoming mail, it no longer sits on the table it gets taken care of immediately. The other thing I've noticed is that I'm always scanning for things to "remove".

Today I tackled the cabinet under the sink in the downstairs bathroom. I tossed quite a bit of stuff :) Now, back to work on the office...

  4. I was able to spend some more quality time in the basement tonight - finally! 1 old craft, 2 old schoolbooks, a bunch of scraps of colored paper and 1 coloring craft thrown out. 1 book, 1 beer glass, and 1 purse placed in the give-away box.

  5. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers! I continued my kitchen re-organization/simplification...2 candles in the give-away box, one in the trash, several other odds and ends in the give away box. Found a space to hang my 2 decorative plates but broke one in the process....guess it's "simpler" to hang only one but I'm sad for the loss. I now have a dutch cupboard with open drawers and shelves - removed the junk that I had kept there for over 8 years!!! Tomorrow I decide what will go in the newly opened space!
