Feb. 9: Day 40 Craft Idea Books

I have some wonderful craft idea books...that I rarely look at. Am I thinking I'll have more time someday? By then, that craft may be out of vogue. In addition, though I hate to admit it, I really can get any idea I'd ever want off the Internet.

I am sorting the books and giving away several today.

  1. To a certain Goodwill shopper who follows this blog...no buying my craft books at Goodwill in the next month! :)

  2. hahaha! Don't tell me which Goodwill!!!!! Sadly enough, when I took all those books to Goodwill last week, there were some craft books in the stack! I, like you, have discovered that if I just google the basic supplies and the word craft, I can get a plethora of ideas...and then there is always Etsy...My daughter has suggested that I go through my supplies and part with some of them...she suggested the pipe cleaner box would be a good place to start...maybe today! :o)

  3. Ivy, if you have pipe cleaners you want to get rid of, bring them to school. I have a science activity for my unit on light that I've been thinking of doing that uses pipe cleaners and photosensitive beads. One woman's trash is another woman's treasure!

I'm not ready to sort through my craft books yet, I'm sure that some stuff is pretty dated and will be easy to part with - like the macrame plant hanger book from the 70s. Some of my craft books, however, are definite keepers.

So, today I got rid of some plastic Halloween teeth that were sitting on my laundry sink!

  4. tossed out a cosmetic case that had a ripped lining! (it was v. bradley - so I had to be strong while I put it in the trash!)

  5. Susan, how many do you need? If the answer is 25, does that mean I get to count 25 items "disposed" of on that day?????????? woo hoo One craft book I got rid of was those squeezy little needlepoint canvas thingies that held a Hershey kiss in their mouth...
