Day 120: Coupons

I have a large zip lock bag in one of my cupboards where I stash coupons. It's hard for me to remember using coupons, so I don't save many. Gift cards go in that same bag so I they aren't misplaced. However, sometimes it gets way too full. It has to be sorted periodically so that I remember to use the coupons and throw out expired ones.

Keeping like things in a certain spot has been a mantra for this blog. Sorting and clearing out is also key. I threw out some old coupons today and looked through what I had for Saturday's grocery shopping.

  2. *Susan! Re: your comment yesterday - that's sooo awesome! :) You can always start counting from today!

Yesterday I realized that I hadn't "simplified" the day before. And still again, I missed it yesterday, too! Sometimes I panic because I'm so busy and it seems as though I can't take the time to find something throw out or give-away. It's not because now that I've removed over 500 things from my home there is barely anything left. No! Amazingly - there is still so much to sort through - so many piles, corners, areas, rooms (only 1 of those) that need sorting, purging, organizing, and more!

My problem is that there is still so much to "think" about what to do with: keep or remove, and then - if I'm going to keep it - I need to figure out what to do with it, how to store it so that it will be useful to me, etc.

I am hoping, though, that this year will be a turning point for me and my relationship with my home and things within it. So on the days that I miss simplifying and then feel bad, I need to move past the feeling bad and remember to just carry on, moving forward in the journey to get where I want to be! :)

6 national geographic magazines in the give-away box today! (sorry this is so long!)
