Mugs To Go
My question to you is how many mugs per person should there be in one household? When you are cooking turkey, they recommend 1 - 1.5 pounds per person. What about mugs?
Over the holidays we had more people in the house. Never once were all the mugs used even with the Keurig going, hot chocolate flowing, and dirty ones being put in the dishwasher. Add in the five new mugs I received as teacher gifts (do you think the kids notice that I drink coffee most mornings??), and they won't even fit on the shelf.
That is too many and can be considered clutter. Today I am culling my mug collection to a reasonable size, and the rest can go to Goodwill.

I don't have a mug to give away today but I will soon, so it's now on my "list" when I unpack boxes this week :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the mug inspiration. The nice thing about mugs is - when you find yourself running out of time or have to quick think in order to do our 1 per day simplifying, almost everyone has a mug or two they don't need!
ReplyDeleteHere's my mug problem: I am always searching for the perfect mug. They have to be the right size (huge), have the right kind of handle (it has to feel right and good in my hands), it has to be the right thickness - not too thin, not too thick...okay, yes, I have issues! :) So, in my search for the perfect mug - I have collected quite a few. I still haven't found the mecca of mugs yet - but I have some good ones that are nearly there. Since I feel this way about mugs, I don't have a hard time getting rid of the ones that aren't quite my idea of perfect.
On Friday, I got rid of one mug in honor of Heidi's post and the search for the perfect mug!
You are such a good writer, Julie.
