When I watch shows on TV where people are buying houses and want HUGE closets, I often hear, "Oh, my clothes will never fit in THAT closet..." It makes me overwhelmed. How many clothes does one person need? I did work with a woman years ago who, I really believe, never wore the same outfit to school the entire school year. She probably needed a huge closet. It's probably people with really big closets who have brand new clothes with the tags still on them months later!
I guess we are all different, but to me, simplicity is keeping my wardrobe down to what I really can use and enjoy wearing more than once a month. (Mine is more like once a week.) I can keep a handle on what I have and become more creative with mixing and matching.
Got rid of some articles of clothing today.
Just the other day I was thinking what a great surprise for my hubby if I had a closet system put into our bedroom closet. Like Heidi, I don't need a bigger closet - I feel the same way about # of clothes, etc. But, I would love all the organizational cubbies and whatnot! :)
ReplyDeleteI was deep cleaning a bathroom today and threw out the following items: 1 pair of earrings, 1/2 pair of earrings (I threw out the matching, broken earring a while ago), 1 sample lipstick, 4 bottles of almost-gone-but-not-quite-maybe-we'll-need-this-if-we-run-out shampoo and/or conditioner, and 1 back scrubber/cleaner thing that is mine but I don't use often enough to keep around! With 4 girls/women sharing one bathroom - I just can't even tell you how many bottles of hair stuff we have - let alone body washes...!
